THE NORTHSIDE CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR

The 2007 poster gives you some idea of the fun we had putting this on. Under pressure from many of you to repeat this spectacular production, Joy and her team of Peter Hayward as MD and Janina as choreographer, are staging The Northside Christmas Spectacular in the showroom of the CHATSWOOD RSL for just four shows on Sat 5th and Sun 6th December.

Limited seating – so be early to get the best seats. This is definitely suitable for kids! Choir, dancers, full orchestra, Santa – what a blast!

All current and former WTC performers welcome.
Auditions only for non WTC people.
Auditions November 1st.

PAST TRIUMPHS

The Cabaret Company performed to another SOLD OUT audience, the musical cabaret ‘ Is that a knife in your back?” – devised, written and directed by Joy Sweeney. This cabaret returned a healthy profit, much welcomed after our loss from the critically acclaimed and well received production of THE FULL MONTY in November 2008.

The Cabaret Company is a flag ship of WTC and is available for community events, corporate affairs and local council functions. This crème de la crème of talent from the ranks of WTC is eager to show off at any time!

THE CIVIC SPACE

The construction of the $150 million new Civic Space is well advanced and is now above street level. Designed around a huge open space, the complex will contain a 1000 seat concert hall, a 500 seat conventional theatre (with all the bells and whistles that WTC may ever need) a multi purpose hall, the largest community library in NSW (underground) and a 400 space car park (also underground).

Promised to be completed in 2011 – we can hardly wait to put on our first show.

SHOWS FOR 2010

The WTC committee is even now considering shows for your enjoyment in 2010. Not an easy task, but with the limitations of the Zenith stage and subsequent orchestra size, our choices are critical so that you, our audience, continue to enjoy the best that WTC can provide.

Well known to our audiences is Kath Legge and Damien Schmitt. They are getting married in June. Congrats to you both. Kath’s parents Pam and Perce Legge have been long time members of WTC and the tradition carries on. Kath and Damien met in “Sweeney-Todd”.

Josephine Ison – ‘Belle’ in Beauty and the Beast and ‘Diana’ in Chorus Line will be travelling with the WIGGLES for 12 months as a dancer/singer. Congrats to Josie – her long time dream to be in pro theatre is finally here.

Congrats continue for Damien Birmingham who will star alongside Caroline O’Connor in CHICAGO. You’ll remember Damian from TITANIC, WITCHES OF EASTWICK, CAMELOT. Damian’s not been out of work since he joined the cast of Fiddler on the Roof, and then Priscilla. Phantom of the Opera continues to benefit from the fine voice of Sean Andrews (Scarlet Pimpernel- TITANIC – Sweeney-Todd) who’s been with the production from the start and is the understudy for Piangi (the tenor).
